Walks around the Valley

The rolling green heights on the Kathmandu Valley rim offer the incomparable pleasures of pristine wilderness without the rigors of a full- scale mountain trek. Among the many exciting destinations for nature walks and Himalayan views, the hilltop of Nargakot is immensely popular for its splendid mountain panorama. The view extends from Dhaulagiri in the west past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east Kakani hill at 1,982 m to the northwest of Kathmandu offers spectacular views of Ganesh Himal , Langtang and the Annapurna range. The four highest hilltops ringing the Kathmandu valley offer great hiking opportunities as well as diverse flora and fauna. The highest among the four is Phulchoki at 2,762m. The others, Dhilocho (2,242m), Jamacho (2,096 m) and Shivapuri (2,732 m), lure walkers with their idyllic environment and many sacred spots.


Mountain Flight

One of the best ways to get close to the Himalayas is the mountain flight that takes you alongside the awesome peaks for an hour of exhilarating sight seeing. KAILASH - MANASAROVAR


The Kailash - Manasarovar region in western Tibet attracts the faithful of four great religions. Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Bon devotees journey to this pilgrimage site to take ritual dips in the icy waters of the sacred Manasarovar lake. The entrancing peak of Mt. Kailash. a 6.714 m pyramid of rock and snow presides over the area. With the recent easing of travel restrictions. Adventurers are also going there in increasing numbers to admire the spectacular view and revel in the stark landscape. Our trek begins with a scenic flight to Simikot in the north western corner of Nepal. We then walk through forests, valleys, fields, and villages to cross the border, into Tibet at Sher. The next portion of the journey consists of a drive to Taklakot and on to Darchan at the foot of Mt. Kailash. The trek around the holy mountain takes around three days and a circuit of Manasarovar lake requires another four days of walking. We return to Kathmandu by making a detour to Lhasa which is another exciting adventure in itself.
